PROJECTARIES COMPLETED

ProjectAries had now officially come to its completion!

I attended the Melbourne Comic Con on the weekend to sell my recently replicated and printed CDs, which was the whole reason I started ProjectAries in the first place. It was a big success on my part, I ended up selling 18 CDs over the whole days, handing out 30 business cards. Which is pretty good considering I was at a comic convention, had no idea what I was doing (I was tabling with my friend who was selling her art which made it a little easier), and seeing how no one knows who I am and this is my first album!

Now I guess I'll have to move onto bigger and better things... I have an idea for the next project.. I'm thinking the 7 Wonders Of The World.

In any case, all the ProjectAries tracks are online at my Soundcloud and on my Bandcamp where it's downloadable for 10 bucks!

Pretty cool stuff~

After what's probably been WAY too many weeks... I've finally finished another two ProjectAries tracks.

The project is coming along well.. on schedule, sounding better and better with each new piece I add to it. At this point in time I have only 2 more tracks to make, which shouldn't be too much more effort!

I currently have my CD cover artist presenting me with draft images, and I'm looking into CD pressing costs and trying to find a way to market it without seeming like I'm trying to shove my music down people's throats. Mind you, if I could find a way to do that.. it probably wouldn't be called marketing.

In any case.. here are the links for:

Sagittarius - one of my favourites of the whole lot so far!

and

Capricorn - simple yet effective

More Development...

ProjectAries is coming along well!! I've had various roadblocks affecting my regular 1-track-per-week timeline, including uni starting again.. but I've managed to finish another 2 tracks regardless. Even if the last one did take me almost 3x the amount of time to finalise...

ProjectAries has been and is continuing to be such an amazing learning experience for me. With each track I'm improving my ability to write and get the music out, create original synths, mix more effectively and develop new ways to interpret data within the starsign and by following my guidelines for the keys and which intervals to focus on.

However, this does mean that the first tracks I made will have to be re-mastered after they've all been completed...

In any case, here are the links to the newest tracks!!

Libra - possibly my favourite of the ProjectAries tracks so far

and

Scorpio

Happy listening!

Time to get this blog up and running!
I'm originally a tumblronian, so excuse my complete noobishness with Blogger. Here I'll be posting things to do with my music and what I'm working on currently.

At the moment, I'm focusing primarily on a self-initiated project that I've called "ProjectAries". The basic rundown is, I will be creating a piece of music for each of the Astrological Starsigns, starting with the first, Aries (where the title came from, evidently). Each piece will be based around the traits of those born under the constellations, and the star configurations can be used for melodies.

Since there are 12 starsigns, and 12 notes on a keyboard, I decided to give myself some more guidelines ... each of the pieces will be in a different key, and each of them will focus on a different interval.

For example, Aries, the first sign is in the key of A.
(Because I figured, hey. A for Aries, why not?)
And because it is the first, it focuses on the interval of 1, or an octave.

Taurus, the second is in Bb (ascending 1 semitone for each) and focuses on the interval of a minor 2nd.

I'm currently up to Gemini, and have fully completed Taurus. Aries and Gemini still have some vocal material to record and incorporate, and hopefully will be finished within the week.

The main project blog for ProjectAries is located here. I update demos of the tracks I'm working on daily.

That's it for now, stay tuned for more updates! (and let's hope I can wrap my head around this site)
